Affordable Individual Health Insurance

Affordable Individual Health Insurance

There are many options for an individual to obtain affordable health insurance coverage. Keep in mind that there are savings in numbers; the more people in a plan, the better the savings for each member.

In some states, like Florida you may purchase group policies for a group of one. Some states allow a two-person policy to qualify for a group rate. If you are a sole proprietor and your spouse helps you with things like bookkeeping, filing or mailings, you may be able to claim them as an employee and get the group rate.

Another option for the self-employed is the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE). NASE offers self employed individuals the choice to deduct 100% of their medical premiums and 100% of their non insured medical expense from state, federal and self employment taxes through a program called 105 HFR.

If you’re not in a business, don’t despair. You may be able to enjoy the lower premiums associated with group plans by joining an organization such as trade or alumni associations.. For instance, as a writer, I might elect to join a group association targeted to help writers secure discounted health insurance. Groups such as ASJA American Society of Journalists and Authors.

Fitness instructors might elect to participate in the health insurance program offered through IDEA, an organization of health and fitness professionals. Pregnant women may join the American Pregnancy Association which offers both government funded programs and discount health programs such as MaternityCard AmeriPlan.

Because association health plans are not subject to the various state regulations that group health plans are subject to, they are able to offer cheaper insurance coverage. Keep in mind, however, that an association health plan is different from a group health plan in that the association does not have to offer the same premium for each member.

Affordable Dental Insurance

Affordable Dental Insurance

Medical treatment – both health and dental – is extremely expensive and the best possible option in the given scenario is to buy both health and dental insurance. Compare the two and you will find that dental insurance is more affordable and cheaper than health insurance.

This is because dental insurance is designed to provide preventive care and this, by and large, eliminates chances of major problems. Unlike health insurance, whereby plans need to cover expensive tests, multiple treatments, and dangerous diseases, dental insurance covers diseases that are preventive by nature and even if treatment becomes essential, the diagnostic tests require little more than x-rays, and a thorough examination by the dentist.

Family dental insurance also makes economic sense. People will find that in any family, there will be members who have required dental treatment at some time or the other. It can be children who require their cavities to be filled or the older generation requiring root canal treatment. If nothing else, regular visits to the dentist are an answer to keeping teeth in good condition, be it cases of bleeding gums or teeth requiring topical fluoride treatment. Routine check-ups can prove to be affordable, if covered by dental plans. Otherwise, a visit to a dentist, apart from being a painful experience, can also end up digging a deep hole in the pocket.

People can afford dental insurance at reduced rates if they choose to buy PPO plans, or preferred provider organization plans. The only thing they have to sacrifice here is the freedom of choice. This means that as for as the freedom of choosing a dentist is concerned, they will have to choose a dentist who is listed in the plan’s network. People should weigh the benefits offered carefully and, given the affordable nature of the plan, they may consider this price too little a sacrifice as compared to the advantages.

Affordable Life Insurance!

Affordable Life Insurance!

So, you’ve decided to purchase life insurance. Well then, you have made a good decision! If you have dependents, you know that you must provide for them long after you are gone. Buying life insurance shouldn’t be a budget buster either. Take a look at the following options which can help you save big time! Shop Online: There are several companies that will give you free life insurance quotes right online. By entering your personal information, the amount of insurance coverage desired, and policy terms, you will receive within moments sufficient quote information. Naturally, you will want to talk to an agent at some point, but at least you will get a very good ballpark figure to consider. Some good sites for you to visit include: Insure.com; SelectQuote.com; ReliaQuote.com, IntelliQuote.com; and InsWeb.com. There are many others, so do some comparison shopping. Types of Life Insurance: There are four types of life insurance plans from which you can choose: Term Life, Whole Life, Universal Life, and Variable Universal Life. Term Life is the most affordable as it lets you lock in a fixed rate for the length of the policy [typically 10 or 20 years], but it does not have any cash accumulation. So, the only way it pays is if you die! Whole Life offers policy holders lifetime coverage, guaranteed level premiums, tax-deferred accumulation of cash values. In other words you can borrow off the policy if you need the cash. Universal Life offers policy holders Lifetime coverage, flexible premiums and death benefits, tax-deferred accumulation of cash values. Rates are adjustable. Variable Universal Life offers lifetime coverage, flexible premiums and death benefits, tax-deferred accumulation of cash values, a selection of investment options. Rates are adjustable. Contact an Agent: Once you have determined which type of insurance is best for you and your family, contact an agent for further guidance. If you received an acceptable life insurance quote online, follow through with it to allow an agent to contact you personally. This person will go over your policy and discuss with you the various types of companies offering coverage. If you are satisfied and want to proceed further, the agent will order a comprehensive medical exam that can be done in the convenience of your home or office at no charge to you! About four to six weeks later the results will be in and if all goes well, coverage will begin almost immediately thereafter. At no point are you obligated to accept coverage until you sign a contract. More Savings: Do you want to save even more money? Pay the premium all at once. Monthly or quarterly payments usually carry a surcharge. By paying the entire premium in advance you can save around 5%. Providing for family members after your death is one of the most important reasons to include life insurance as part of your financial planning. You can receive your free life insurance quote by shopping online today; don’t delay! (c)2005; Matthew C Keegan, LLC

Auto Insurance Fraud

Auto Insurance Fraud

The reason why automobile insurance has become distinctive in its nature, can be simply stated by the fact that a victim might start paying much higher premiums for acquiring a costly claim but he or his family might still need to pay with their lives someday.
Research: Ever since the introduction of automobiles into the modern world, Automobile Insurance fraud has turned out to be one the most organized crimes amongst a large variety of insurance scams of its kind. There are some common precautions that enable you to be aware, and protect your life from being butchered by a scammer. While taking precautions, you might also need to carry on a thorough research of the different forms in which auto insurance scams appear in today's world. Different instances of auto insurance scams show, how drivers might stop their vehicles in front of your car, deliberately confusing you to commit a mistake.
Foul Plays: Some of them might even pose friendly to you and even pretend to be innocent to have caused a rear-end fault intending to save your life. Such scam drivers would often make good money out of vehicle damages as also procuring large sums faking medical injuries. Irrespective of an accident being staged or not, these scam drivers would carry their vehicles into a different location and inflict heavier damages to their vehicles. This is done with the sheer intention to pretend as if the damages had been inflicted during the course of the original accident.
Smiling Faces: Sometimes you might come across people who pose as scam helpers, thereby inviting you to drive into traffic and commit the mistake of getting crashed by them. You need to be too careful at that, as these scam helpers would never own up their crimes while filing a claim. When in times of need they might even drive you to find an automobile repairing shop, a lawyer or a doctor where in all of these people are involved in a scam. In the course of their plan, the auto repairing shop might charge much higher rates from you while their counterparts would surely formulate lies to collect more from your insurance.
Henceforth, in today's world it has become absolutely important to get equipped to face such crimes at any time and place. To avoid such circumstances, every time you are driving you need to remain cautious about certain things. You need to be absolutely alert as to whether a scam driver is following you or might be observing you driving down for quite some days just to track down the pattern of your driving and your habits. In such cases you just need to make sure that you leave plenty of space between your car and the car in front of you, in order to ensure an instant stop when needed.
Incase any untoward incident takes place, just make sure that you take down all the vital in formations relating to the other car involved in the accident, the event itself, and especially particulars related to all the individuals present in the other car. If its possible, maintain a throwaway camera at your car to record the damages caused to both the vehicles. That is why its all the more important to ensure that you have enough space to move out and let other vehicles pass. You would also need to make a note of an overview of such an event that suffices to express your feelings in a better way while you would narrate the event to your insurance service provider.

UK Car Insurance - Making A Claim

UK Car Insurance - Making A Claim

If you are unlucky enough to have an accident in the UK, you will need to know some of the basics ins-and-outs of how to make a claim on your UK car insurance.

Personal Injury

The first thing you should do following a car accident is to check and see if anyone in your car or any of the other cars has been injured.  If they have, you should immediately call for medical assistance (ambulance).  Once you have done this, keep in mind that you may need to include a medical report as part of the accident claim.

Call the police

Depending on the seriousness of the accident, you may know need to call the police.

24-Hour assistance

By law you should have a copy of your car insurance certificate with you in your car at all times.  Included in this will be a 24-hour hotline contact number that you can call if you happen to be involved in an accident.  You need to ring this number and ask them what the procedures are you should take.  Remember, in the UK you can have one of several different classes of car insurance (for example, third party or fully comprehensive), so the steps you will need to take will vary depending on this and the procedures put in place by your specific car insurance policy provider.

While on the phone with your car insurance company, remember to ask them to send you an accident report form.  The accident report form should be fairly self-explanatory, but if you have any problems completing this, then it is a good ideal that you call your insurer and clear up any misunderstandings before you submit this form.

Collect evidence of the accident

Having called your insurance provider and asked for assistance, it is a good idea to collect some evidence about the accident.  This can include taking the names of any eye witnesses and/or taking photographs of the accident (mobile phone cameras are useful for this purposes).

Repairs to your car

It is very important that you understand that any costs you incur with respect to your car following an accident are for your own account (i.e. you pay) unless you have agreed these beforehand with your insurance company.  As such, it is not a good idea following an accident to just take your car off to a garage and have the repairs done – as you may well find your car insurance company will not agree to reimburse you.  Far more sensible is to phone the car insurance company first and ask them if there is any specific garage in your area where you need to take the car for repairs.

Keep receipts for all expenses

Even if you think that it is unlikely you’ll be reimbursed for the cost, if you have an accident and are going to make a claim with your car insurance company then it is vital that you keep a receipt of all the expenses incurred.  Keep in mind that if you do not have a record of the expense, it is highly unlikely that your car insurance company is going to reimburse you.

Universal Life Insurance

Universal Life Insurance

Universal life insurance is just one of several types of life insurance policy available through life companies today. Unlike term life insurance or mortgage (reducing) life insurance, universal life insurance gives your insurance policy a cash-in value, allowing you to withdraw funds accumulated on your universal policy as and when needed.

This flexible approach to life insurance is very popular in the US and offers a real alternative to standard term & mortgage life policies where the policyholder does not normally get to benefit directly from the life insurance funds, unless they are diagnosed as being terminally ill. Universal life insurance also provides policyholders with the ability to accrue interest on their life insurance premiums - something that a standard life insurance policy does not offer.

How universal life insurance works
Universal life insurance works in a similar way to a high interest long-notice deposit account. When an insurance premium payment is sent to the life company the company deposit the funds into an interest account after deducting a nominal expenses charge per deposit. The funds then gain interest, with interest accrued being credited to the account on a monthly basis. Each premium payment made of course increases the fund, while compound interest is earned on the account month upon month. The cost of maintaining the insurance product or products purchased through the universal insurance scheme are also deducted from the universal account on a monthly basis.

Should the insurance policyholder wish to withdraw funds from their universal life policy then they can do so from the cash surrender value of the life policy. Withdrawals are normally controlled / limited to a set number per year. Depending upon the policy provider there may also be caps on the amount of money that the universal life policyholder can withdraw and a stipulation on a minimum amount of funds that should remain in the universal life account.

It should go without saying that withdrawals from a universal life insurance policy will reduce the overall amount of funds available when a lump sum claim is made upon death or terminal illness diagnosis. It is therefore important to manage the universal life account to ensure that there is sufficient coverage for your family and dependants in the event of your death. If you don't have the time to carefully manage a universal life product then you may end up with little to show for your life insurance premiums if and when a lump sum pay out is triggered.

Dental Insurance

Dental Insurance

Dental costs are becoming an increasingly significant health care expense and more and more people are making sure they are protected against these costs with a dental insurance policy. Dental insurance policies typically work in the same way as any other medical insurance policy. You will pay your monthly premium and this will entitle you to specific dental care procedures such as checkups, cleaning and x-rays. You will also be covered for other procedures that are deemed necessary to keep your teeth and gums in good health.

Comprehensive

As with all insurance policies, they will vary in what treatments they cover and how much they cost. While more expensive policies will give you greater benefits and allow you access to a greater range of services, cheaper ones will be restricted in what they cover and you will be required to contribute to the cost of procedures you require. If you think you will need dental surgery, oral implants, the services of an orthodontist and other more expensive forms of treatment, you will probably want to go for a more comprehensive policy.

One of the main differences between medical and dental health care is that children generally require far more treatment and expense than adults do. This is true right up through your child’s teen years when orthodontists’ bills can often be extremely expensive. You may therefore wish to cover only your children with dental insurance and you should check with your insurer to see if this is possible. While some insurance companies will allow children to have their own dental insurance policies, others will only insure them as part of an adult or family plan and if this is the case you will require to insure them with your own dental insurance provider and this may mean taking out dental insurance for yourself if you do not already have it.

Discounts

Another option offered by some insurance companies is to take a form of dental discount card. This is not dental insurance in the strict sense of the meaning but does provide you with discounts on dental treatment when you require using them. They can be a cheaper way of obtaining limited protection against dental costs and for this reason are growing in popularity. Not all insurers will provide them so shop around and see what’s on offer. As with all insurance, there can be great differences is what you will be offered for your money and considering that dental insurance can be a significant expense, it is wise to make sure you know what is available before you decide to opt for any policy.

Flood Insurance

Flood Insurance

There are many risks that people are accustomed to insuring against. These will include, health insurance, auto insurance and fire insurance. There are others that are less familiar, such as dental and flood insurance but there are many reasons why you should reassess the insurances you currently have in place and perhaps consider relocating them to cover the risks that you are most afraid of experiencing.

For example, did you know that losses due to floods are thirty times more likely to occur than fire losses? This is especially true if your home is located in a flood prone zone. While flood loss is generally less devastating than fire loss, if your home is located in a flood prone zone, the chance of even experiencing catastrophic damage is still 25% greater from flood than from fire.

Flood loss

Most basic home insurance policies do not automatically include flood loss as standard. Commercial property policies are the same, with flood loss only being covered if it is specifically mentioned in the policy. If the flood is extremely severe, it may be classified as a disaster site by the federal government. This will cause some protection to be made available in the form of loans. These loans, which come through the Federal Emergency Management Assistance program, are not like insurance however, as you are required to pay back the loan that they give you, as well as any other home loans you already have. They will also require you to carry flood insurance in the future. The other thing about the Federal Emergency Management Assistance program is that it only kicks in if your area and flood are declared a federal disaster site. This can be fairly rare when compared to the amount of floods that are experienced annually.

Flood insurance will be offered by various insurance companies but should be backed by the National Flood Insurance Program. This type of coverage, which is supported and regulated by the federal government, is the only type of flood insurance that will fully protect your home and contents from rising water flood insurance.

Shop Around

If you are considering taking out a policy of this kind, shop around for the best rate and find out what is covered and what is excluded. It may be that a specific company’s exclusion is exactly the situation in which you require coverage and other companies may not have the same exclusion so you are wise to shop around. Also, all insurance companies vary in what they offer and what they charge. Do not accept the first offer or quote you receive and do not expect all companies to provide the same deals. You should always shop around when it comes to insurance and find yourself the best deal available.

Car Insurance Basics

Car Insurance Basics

Car insurance is basically insurance that drivers can purchase for any kind of vehicle in order to protect against losses sustained in traffic accidents.  Auto insurance policies are, in reality, a bundle of different coverages.  This insurance will usually cover the insured party, the insured motor vehicle, and any third parties involved.  Different policies will identify the situations in which each of these entities is covered.

Below are the specific coverages involved when you purchase car insurance.

- Liability Insurance: Liability coverage is the most basic and foundational coverage in car insurance policies and is required in most states.  This coverage ensures that if you are the one at fault in an accident, your liability insurance will pay for the physical injury and property damage expenses of any third parties involved.  This coverage includes legal bills.  Remember that third parties can sue you for “pain and suffering” damages.  Minimum insurance may not sufficiently cover you in more extreme cases, which is why many people recommend that drivers purchase more than the state minimum required.  Liability coverage limits are usually conveyed with three numbers.  For example, liability limits of 20/50/10 indicate that there is coverage of $20,000 in bodily injury coverage per person, $50,000 in bodily injury coverage per accident, and $10,000 in property damage coverage per accident.

- Collision Coverage:  In the case that you are in an accident, collision insurance will pay for the repairs that your vehicle requires.  Collision coverage is usually the most expensive coverage that you will have to pay for.  Insurance companies will declare a vehicle “totaled” or a “write-off” if the replacement would be cheaper than the repairs needed.

- Comprehensive Coverage:  This coverage will pay for any damages to an automobile that were not caused by an accident.  Qualifying damages include damages arising from carjackings, vandalism, natural disasters, and hitting an animal.

- MedPay, PIP, and No-Fault Coverages:  MedPay will pay for the medical expenses of you and anyone else in your car after an accident, regardless of whose fault the accident was.  PIP (Personal Injury Protection) and “no-fault” coverages are other forms of medical payment protection.  They are broader than MedPay and may be required in certain states.  These expanded coverages cover child care and lost wages.

- Uninsured and Underinsured Motorists Coverages:  UM (Uninsured Motorists) coverage will pay for injuries you have sustained if you are involved in a hit-and-run by a driver who does not have auto insurance, and is mandatory in many states.  UIM (Underinsured Motorists) coverage will pay for you if the driver who hit you creates more damage than their liability insurance can cover.

- Supplemental Coverages:  Rental reimbursement is an add-on that will cover rented vehicles in case of damage or theft.  Auto replacement coverage ensures that your automobile will be fully repaired for replaced even if the costs are more than its depreciated value.  Coverage for towing and labor covers you in case of an auto failure on the road where towing is necessary.  These supplemental coverages are usually offered as separate items or included in larger policies.

Florida Health Insurance

Florida Health Insurance

Florida health insurance costs can prove to be a very real obstacle to many Florida consumers that are searching for a comprehensive and affordable Florida health insurance policy. Florida health insurance premiums can be pricey at first glance. However, when you consider that even some routine surgeries plus a week or more in a Florida hospital could cost upwards of six figures then the importance of finding a Florida health insurance policy that is both comprehensive and affordable cannot be underestimated.

The Florida health insurance market is a very competitive market. This is at once a very good thing and a very bad thing for the Florida health insurance shopper. The competitiveness of the Florida health insurance market is good for the Florida consumer because it forces the top companies to drive down their rates in an effort to maintain affordable health insurance policies as they compete against each other for your business. The negative aspect of the Florida health insurance market’s competitiveness is that many insurance companies are attracted to the strong demand for health insurance in the state of Florida and not all have the sterling reputation of an Aetna, Humana, or a United Healthcare.

Without mentioning names, this strong demand for Florida health insurance will attract health insurance companies to Florida that are forced to put calendar year limits in their policies or only cover benefits up to a certain amount (an indemnity style policy) in order to try and compete with stronger, more established companies.

Just to contrast the seriousness of this, imagine that you blow out your knee as you are exercising and you have to have arthroscopic knee surgery and a week plus in the hospital brings the total bill to $100,000.

With a strong reputable Florida health insurance company with an established dependable network such as one of the Florida health insurance “Big 3” (Aetna, Humana, and United Healthcare) you will have coverage of anywhere from $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 per person without any calendar year limits and without limits on benefits payable for certain procedures. That $100,000 hospital bill is whittled down to your maximum out of pocket cost of probably around $3,000 to $5,000 depending on your policies deductible and coinsurance amount.

Now imagine that you had decided years back that you wanted to go with a Florida health insurance company that you had never heard of until then and purchase a seemingly attractive indemnity policy or a policy with a calendar year limit: if the limit on the policy is for say $10,000 for that particular procedure or maybe only up to $200 a day for every day in the hospital… guess what? Once you reach that limit threshold you are stuck with the rest of the bill. It is as if you do not even have insurance once you reach the limits in the policy.

The different Florida health insurance policies can be difficult to navigate without the assistance of an expert independent insurance agent. View Florida health insurance quotes from the top companies side by side and compare them to ensure that you have both affordable and comprehensive Florida health insurance.

Cheap Car Insurance

Cheap Car Insurance

Yes! It is possible to get cheap insurance. The best way to find low cost insurance is to get insurance quotes from several different companies and then you can see what the cheapest rate is. Here is a list of some things that contribute to the cost of your insurance.

The first factor would be the area in which you reside. Insurers look at your neighboring area. If your area has many accidents it will affect and increase your premium rate. Most of the time, you will find more fender benders in inner city area. In rural areas you might find more severe accidents. The reason for this would be because of the higher speeds on the open highway.

The second factor would be the type of car you own. If you have an older vehicle with some damage your insurance will obviously be cheaper. Owning an expensive sports car will surely increase your insurance rate.

The third factor would be young driver discounts. Some companies offer discounts for good students with a 3.0 grade point average as well as drivers training discount. If you put the two together the discount can be quite significant.

The fourth would have to be matured driver and retired discounts. Some companies can offer retirement discounts and mature driver discounts to lower the rates for senior citizens.

These were just a few things that can contribute to your insurance rate. Be sure to ask about any discounts when shopping for your car insurance. Think about where you live, your vehicle and how you arrange your coverage. If you do a little more research and educate yourself it will help you get the insurance that is right for you, and an insurance that will save you more money. So go out inform yourself and save money on your car insurance!

Car Insurance Top Tips

Car Insurance Top Tips
The car insurance industry has got really competitive in the last few years, so prices haven't really changed much. There are now over 100 car insurers to choose from, so there are some very good deals out there for those who are prepared to shop around. 23% of motorists still choose to insure with the same company as the year before, but they could undoubtedly save money if they did check out some other companies.

Motorists could be forgiven for not getting other quotes, it used to be a very laborious exercise involving long waits while getting routed through the call center, and boring repetition of facts to sales advisers. Now, thanks to the internet, it's all a lot more simple. Car insurers also offer extra discounts to people who buy online.

However, you need to consider the quality of the policy, not just the price:

• Check that your low quotation is not due to an extremely high excess.

• Check that you will get a courtesy car if your car needs to be taken in for repairs.

• Check that legal insurance cover is included, if you want it, and automatic windscreen replacement.

• Find out if there is an accident help line in case of an emergency.

It's a good idea to ring the insurer direct to talk through the policy in detail before signing up online.

Money saving tips – recommended!

You can get a quote with over 40 car insurers if you input your details into a good car insurance broker's website. You'll only need to give your details once. Call the insurer with the quotation to check exactly what is and isn't covered.

If you have a garage, then you'll save by keeping your car there overnight. You'll also make savings if you can keep your car on a driveway. This is because there is more chance your car being broken into or vandalized if it's kept on the road.

Give your insurer an accurate picture of how many miles you do each year – you will save if you travel less.

Some occupations, like being a landlord, journalist or professional footballer (if only) attract higher premiums. You can save money if you work in finance or the civil service.

Get married! Men under 30 pay more if they're not married – it's just the excuse your girlfriend is looking for!

Under 25's pay more, but you can get lower premiums if can put a driver over the age of 25 with a good driving record on your policy as a named driver. That person must be under 60 though, as premiums rise again at that age.

Agreeing to higher excess (the average cost is £100) will help lower your premiums.

If your car is not of a high value, you could get third party cover and make quite a saving compared to fully comprehensive insurance.

Pay as you go insurance is a new option for 18-21 year olds. It's a recent development introduced by Norwich Union, in which you pay a unit cost per mile. The cost per mile is more between 11 pm and 6 am. You pay an initial fee of £199 to have a Global Positioning System fitted to your car, and then it transmits details of your mileage direct to Norwich Union. Car Insurance Explained

Finding the right policy and the cheapest insurance cover can be a tricky process; drivers use the Internet, by telephone, read magazines, watch TV advertisement to get information on savings and offers on car insurance.

Owning and driving a car means taking on many risks to yourself and others. When a traffic accident happens, damage, injuries, loss or all of these factors may be inflicted upon you and others. Damage and loss of your property may also occur. Fire, theft, vandalism and natural disasters are other possible risks.

Car Insurance protects motorists and drivers against liability in the event of accidents they may cause. It can also provide cover for the motorist's own vehicle.

Many different types of cover are available, ranging from third party cover which protects individuals against liability should they injure a third party or cause damage to a third party's property, but does not provide any cover for the individual's own vehicle or property, through to comprehensive cover, which can offer protection for accidental damage, theft, fire damage as well as liability towards third parties. The minimum legal requirement for car insurance to drive in the UK is Third Party Only.

Here are 5 steps to follow to find the cheapest deal:

STEP ONE: EXCESS
Voluntary excess – the easiest way to cut your insurance premiums is to accept a higher voluntary excess.  An insurer's standard excess may be £100; but if you meet the first £250 of any claim, you'll see a reduction in your premium.  This is simply because you are more of the risk so you get a discount by your insurance company.  This however is a gamble, insurer should be aware that they may have to meet the cost of a broken window after an attempted theft, then a bill for repairing bodywork damage after a car park crunch.

STEP TWO: SECURITY
One way to get cheaper insurance premiums is to fit a security device.  Many insurers advise insurer’s to use Thatcham rated security equipment, usually minimum of an alarm.  If you are living in a high-risk which may be known for car crime it would be useful to fit an extra security such as steering lock.  This will save you money when your insurance renewal is due and gives you extra peace of mind.

STEP THREE: NAMED DRIVERS
Adding a named driver to your policy can increase or reduce your premiums depending upon the named drivers age, sex and driving record. When adding a young driver will increase your premiums, particularly with a limited or poor driving record. However, adding a driver over 30 years old with a long and clean driving record can cut premiums, particularly if the named driver is a female.

STEP FOUR:  ANNUAL MILEAGE
If your annual mileage is, 5,000 miles or less, ask insurers if they offer discounts for agreed mileage restrictions, as some insurance companies do give discounts for restricted mileage. However many insurers won't offer this option as standard but will agree a discount if you ask.

STEP 5 - SHOP AROUND FOR GOOD RATES
The biggest potential savings come from shopping around. This has been made much easier with the explosion of the internet. There can be massive differences between the lowest and highest car insurance quotes for exactly the same car and driver(s).

California strengthen health reforms

While Massachusetts previous year became the first state wanting each one to purchase health insurance, the proposals in California could come up with an even bolder trial, because the Golden State's problems are so much larger. "It's now a bigger face in California," says Marian Mulkey, a senior program officer at California HealthCare Foundation, a non-profit organization think tank. "That's not to say it's insurmountable."

California health insurance, for example, a predictable 4.9 million people are short of health insurance. That compares with a forecast 500,000 in Massachusetts before its plan began. That's why politicians from other states — along with policy specialists and officials in Congress — are watching the California try closely, with its latent to set a nationwide model. Some desire a worldwide program paid for and overseen completely by the government. Some states all individuals must be obligatory to purchase health coverage, while others say such a go-ahead is draconian when premium costs are so high.

Health insurance in California hit a barrier surprises few. The challenge is huge and the solutions are contentious, splitting lawmakers. Republicans devastatingly do not support the two Democratic health-improvement measures, which are in play in California, nor did any back the governor's plan. While their suggestion shares some of the governor's ideas, Democrats part with Schwarzenegger in two important ways: They do not desire to need individuals to purchase health insurance, and they wish employers who do not provide insurance to pay more than the governor proposes.

"Any development in California would make a considerable dent in the problem of the uninsured nationally," says Larry Levitt, a health insurance policy forecaster for the Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-profit study group based in Menlo Park, Calif. "Action in California would make genuine momentum, both in the presidential debate and in other states."

In Massachusetts, years of preparation went into the health-reform attempt before the government — overpoweringly in agreement — passed its measure. "If you are going to refinance one-sixth of the world economy, you would better not do it on a 50-to-49 vote," says Jon Kings dale, head of the state agency overseeing rollout of the program in Massachusetts. "Enacting something is only semi the challenge."

Canadian Travel Health Insurance

Travel Health Insurance, International Travel Health Insurance, Cheap Travel Health Insurance, Canadian Travel Health Insurance

With Canada so close to the US, it is easy to forget that Canada is another country and even though we feel at home when we go there, there are formalities one must have in mind – like having a travel health insurance because the American healthcare system does not pay for treatment outside the US.

There is hardly anything special in purchasing a travel health insurance plan when going to Canada that is very different from doing it for any other part of the world. Maybe one difference is that Canada has a high standard of living and therefore you can reasonably expect that there, like at home, medical and dental services will be more expensive than those in some Third World countries. And this is one more reason to look for the best, not the cheapest travel health insurance plan.

As far as money is concerned, a regular basic plan usually provides coverage for you and your family amounting about $50,000 CAD (about USD 43,000), which is usually enough to cover ambulance service, laboratory examination, doctor’s fees, a short stay in the hospital, etc. But if you are afraid that this is not enough, there are companies that offer over USD 1,000,000 as coverage. And if you go to ski in Calgary, for example, or go on a fishing trip to Ontario, do not let a broken limb ($400-500 with therapy, crutches, etc.) break both your mood and finances.

There are many Canadian companies that offer travel health insurance to Americans and there are many American companies that offer the same for Americans going to Canada, so the choice is unlimited. Just visit their sites and spend some time with the online calculators that allow to enter your age, the duration of the trip, the destination province and your medical condition, and in no time at all you will have plenty of offers to choose from!

Car Insurance

Nothing is easy even in today’s one-click world.  Buying car insurance can be a big hassle, and take most of a day calling around, talking to different companies to get quotes.  A lot of people don’t have the time to waste to call several different companies out of the phone book, haggling for the best deal and the lowest car insurance rates.  Yet everyone still wants to find the best deal, whether or not they have a lot of time on their hands to shop around with.  If you’re a bargain shopper, then you know the Internet is your best bet to find the greatest deals – on anything.  If you buy your car insurance online, you’re liable to come away with a great deal.

Every car insurance company says they can offer you the best deal and the lowest rates, and it seems almost impossible to get a straight answer when you get a quote over the phone.  Many shoppers feel more comfortable buying car insurance online, in a quick and easy process that doesn’t mean sitting through a long series of automated questions and answers.  By gathering quotes on the Internet, you won’t have to talk to anyone on the phone, answer any questions posed by automated voices, or sit and wait for a human to have the time to talk to you.  The Internet allows you to move easily through the process of getting quotes, and many consumers prefer this method.

If you want to get quotes online, the first rule of thumb is not to go to car insurance company’s web site.  This will limit your quotes and your options.  There are tons of sites out there that allow you to fill out a single questionnaire and then compare quotes side-by-side.  You can, in this fashion, look over the rates and coverage of several different companies at once.  Using the phone as your only tool, getting that many quotes could take hours.  With the Internet, you can compare a large list of quotes, immediately weeding out companies whose prices don’t fit your budget.  Any Internet search will produce web sites that offer comparison-shopping and multiple quotes for your car insurance needs.

Another good way to go when it comes to buying car insurance is to buy through an independent agent.  Independent agents do not work for any one company but for you, the consumer.  They do all the work of comparing quotes for you, and in the end they can usually provide you with a much better deal than what you can find on your own.  Independent agents are offered select deals through car insurance companies, policies and rates that aren’t available to the average person.  You will never have to talk to your car insurance company, and will only have to send them a check every month or six months (depending on your payment plan).  If there is any problem, simply contact your insurance agent and they’ll take care of everything.  The best part is, there are no fees involved with using the independent agent – you only pay your car insurance bill.

Most people have to have car insurance because of state laws, and others just know that having car insurance is a good idea.  Just because you have to have it doesn’t mean you can’t get a great deal at the same time, and the less you have to pay, the better.  You can find the best car insurance rates without wasting a ton of time or staying on hold for hours.  Really, doesn’t everyone deserve the best possible deal on affordable car insurance?

Business Insurance

There is no denying the fact that success of a business depends on the hard work of the team but one disaster can wipe out your efforts and bring down the profits to dust. So, to avoid such an instance, you need to insure your business, whether it is a small enterprise or a large corporation. There are insurance companies, which have policies that combine protection for all major property and liability risks in one package. You can also opt for separate coverage. Such a policy is called a business owners’ policy (BOP). Larger companies may purchase a commercial package policy. BOPs include property insurance for buildings and equipments owned by the company. If there is any loss of income due to disruption of operation and business because of accidents like fire, it can be covered under the Business Interruption Insurance. There are liabilities, which cover the company's legal responsibility for the harm it may cause to others. It is the result of your company’s failure to do the business operations. It can also be the bodily injury or property damage caused due to defective products, faulty installations and errors in services provided. However, BOPs don’t cover professional liability, auto insurance, worker’s compensation or health and disability insurance. Separate policies are needed for professional services, vehicles and employees. Generally, floods, earthquakes and terrorist attacks are not covered in the business insurance. Protection Against Flood Damage If your office is in the flood zone area, you must definitely go for a policy, which provide coverage against flood. Try to find out whether the place had been hit by flood in the past. Make sure you do something in advance to make up for the loss. Otherwise you may face trouble. Protection Against Earthquake Damage Earthquake is also not included in most property insurance policies such as homeowners and business owners’ package policies. Special Earthquake Insurance Policy or Commercial Property Earthquake Endorsement can cover you if you live in an earthquake-prone area. However, earthquake policies have different deductibles. Business Interruption Insurance, which reimburses you for the lost income during a shutdown, applies only to the damage covered under your business property insurance policy. There won’t be reimbursement for the loss caused due to the closure of business because of the earthquake. For it, you must have an earthquake coverage policy. Protection Against Terrorist Attack Losses In the US, loss due to any terrorism is covered only for those businesses that have optional terrorism coverage. It comes under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act 2002. Still, there are exceptions in workers’ compensation, which include injuries and deaths due to acts of terrorism.
